I recently was blessed with the opportunity to take an AMAZING trip to the Holy Land on a pilgrimage tour, which of course included Galilee, Nazareth, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem.
Going to Israel in and of itself was an incredible experience, but the icing on the cake was that the tour was led by Jeff Cavins and Fr. Mike Schmitz. If you aren't familiar with these guys, check them out. They are gifted Catholic speakers and have helped me learn so much about Catholicism in the last couple of years. Jeff Cavins alone has been to Jerusalem over 50 times, so as you can imagine he had some wonderful ideas to share!
I will be publishing a series of 9 posts, one for each day of the trip, to document the sites we visited and summarize the teaching notes we received from Jeff and Fr. Mike. Follow along to see photos of the sites we visited, learn about the Bible events associated with them, and get the scoop on the lessons and incredible insights we discussed!
Here is an outline of the posts I will be publishing in the coming weeks:
Day 1 – Galilee area, Caesarea Maritima
Day 2 – Capernaum, Mt. of Beatitudes, Caesarea Philippi, Church of the Primacy of Peter
Day 3 – Nazareth-Church of the Annunciation & St. Joseph’s Church, Kfar Kedem, Cana, Sea of Galilee
Day 4 – Mt. Tabor, travel to Jerusalem
Day 5 – Bethlehem-Church of St. Catherine’s & Church of the Nativity & Shepherd’s Fields
